January

Welcome back everyone and I hope you enjoyed your break! With the colder weather coming the intramural program will start.  The schedule for the classes is listed in the gymnasium and on the blog.

The Kindergarten and 1/2 classes will begin January with some low organized activities and soccer for the first week and a half.  After that the classes will be participating in the basketball unit and learn dribbling, passing, and shooting.  The last activity for the month is pickleball.  Pickleball is similar to tennis but in a smaller area and using paddles and wiffle balls.

For the grade 3/4's, they started the new year off with floor hockey for the first week.  After floor hockey the class went into the basketball unit.  In the unit the class practiced passing, dribbling, shooting, and lay ups.  The last part of the January the students are beginning the pickleball unit.

The grade 5-8's began their creative dance unit.  The students have to pick a song and create a dance to it as a group.  The students are required to rehearse the dance on Mondays during phys. ed. The students brought in the new year with floor hockey.  After the floor hockey unit the students entered the basketball unit and are learning basketball skills that include dribbling, passing, shooting, and lay ups.
