This month the Kindergarten, Grade 1/2, and 2/3 class will be participating in transport games, scoops and balls, volleyball, and a little bit of fitness.  When the students are playing with the scoops and balls they will be learning how to scoop the ball, throw the ball, catch the ball, and pass the ball to a partner.  When engaged in the volleyball unit the students will be learning how to throw the ball over the net.  For the older grades, the students will be using the volleyballs and do the simple skills (bumping and setting).  The last little bit of the month the students will be playing fitness games (relay races) to enhance their cardiovascular endurance.

The grade 3/4, 4/5, 6, 7/8 classes will be engaged in volleyball, badminton, and fitness.  During the volleyball unit the students will be learning how to forearm pass, set, and serve a ball.  The students will be engaged in 3-5 classes of skill development with 3 classes of games to reinforce the skills learned.  When playing badminton the students will learn how to serve, clear, smash, and drop shot.

Starting in November all grades will be starting to learn about nutrition in the health class.  The students will learn about the different food groups, sugars, and the food guide.  The class will take place once a week starting late November and will run until Christmas Break.
